I am sat here cleaning my irons, I have one of those little tools that has a fibre brush and a wire brush on. I used the fibre brush but it doesn't get in the grooves, I dare say the wire one will but I worry about it scratching the club face.

What do others use to clean the grooves, is the wire brush safe to use?

I use the wire brush. The heads get far worse/abrasive treatment pretty much every time they go through the soil.

Your supposed to clean your clubs, seriously 😳 I'll let the wife know she's got another duty 😜

I use one of those brushes people wash the pots with. Or rinse them with before they wash them. Just like a pretty stiff plastic bristle brush. Soak them for 5 then a quick going over and a dry off job done. But I do also have one of those fibre/wire brushes and use them on wedges when cleaning them or if they are looking clogged up on the course

Fine wire brush is perfectly safe to use, as has been said already the club heads get a far worse pasting every time you take a divot or a bunker shot !...

Those wire brushes are brass I think, (or something similar) just like the brushes I used to use on my suede desert boots many years ago. Brass is softer than the steel/casting of the club, so will not scratch of damage the face or grooves at all.
For the record, I clean my club face after each shot with a towel and every now and then at home with a bucket of warm water and a nail brush.

Desert boots!
I haven't heard that term for years, takes me back to trying to be trendy.
