Close but just not enough

It was our captains prize today and after a sterling effort in tough conditions to score 35pts last week finishing 16th of 106 i was out today off the 4th tee shotgun start.

I started pretty steady and after 5 holes i had 10pts. After a bogey and putting 2 oob from the centre of the fairway on 10&11 i then had 2bogeys 4 pars and a birdie to complete the back 9 with 23pts.

I had a bogey on the 1st after i putted like a tart then completed the round with 2 pars to finish with 41pts today 76pts for the overall comp. Came 2nd after the winner had 2x39pts.

I felt like i'd left a few pts out there today but i played some very good/spolid golf and i expect a 2 shot handicap cut will be coming my way.

Its not a nice feeling being runner up neither.

I played in our's yesterday and it was won by a junior playing off 2 and he shot -5 gross

Second that. You won't be runner up very often in the grand sceme of things. You may even win a few. Overall though days like that are fairly rare so enjoy them, you will remember tham a long time.

You really shouldnt have tried to carry the water at 290 yrds
