Anyone know when Cleaveland are discontinuing production of irons and woods?

I understand the are going to become a wedge only brand I just wondered when this was happening, quite fancy a 588 driver and was hoping to get a bargain when they stop production.

No idea of production end date, but I doubt they are producing many at all now, likely stock is already scattered around their network and no more will come out.

They were so close to making fantastic woods recently. The classic range looked amazing. They missed a trick with the original classics by not making fairway woods with the persimmon finish. They then missed a further trick by not making the updated woods adjustable. Ruled out so many golfers with the big closed face.

Two unbelievable decisions.

I'm surprised that they are stopping with their irons. I have just got myself some CG16's and they are fantastic. I understand why they may drop woods but there seems to be a sensible link technology wise between irons and wedges.

I see where you are coming from but to me that doesn't make sense. Srixon are a strong golf ball brand, Cleveland a club brand. It takes years to build a brand name and if Srixon moved into this field they would be starting from scratch. Golf is a hugely competitive market and to start from the beginning would be very tough indeed.

I am about to sell some CG7's black irons on the for sale site within the week (once I get into the loft to take some pics and stuff). not sure if £50 is too much or not enough to charge though ? Any ideas?

Check out Ebay. Put in CG7 Black irons and then go into advanced search and tick the box marked completed listings. This will give you an idea of what they will go for. Now is a good time to sell, Ryder Cup fever means people are keen to buy golf gear. I know because someone just paid over the odds for my old iron set.

Does this mean the Never Compromise putter brand is going the way of the Dodo?

Shame if it were the case as the Gambler series of their putters were awesome.

Srixon already do clubs but not as many models as Cleveland or as well known.

No idea but at a guess I would assume they would trade as a separate company i.e. Cleaveland for Wedges, Never Compromise for putters then Srixon for everything else

Disappointed to hear they are focussing solely on wedges. Think their hybrids and woods are great value for money. Can't see the Srixon range being as cheap if that's what they are planning.

Take good pictures. Selling clubs is all about the pictures. Best of luck.

Here's the link to the Rick Shiels video if anyone's interested. Seems really impressed with it. The ball speed is phenomenal!

News to me! Where'd that info come from?
