Cleaned mine for 1st time tonight as been getting lot of stick recently at the course.

How often you guys and girls clean your and why?

Hmmm....depends on how dirty they get, but I'm probably cleaning them once a week at the moment - sometimes just a wipe down and sometimes with a full soaking. I always give them a clean the night before a comp. Makes me feel a little more prepared and I must admit I love doing it. Very satisfying to see a bag full of shiny clubs! :)

I usually do them every few weeks, but this week we had a guy come to our club with a machine that cleans your clubs for £3 instead of £5, they look brand spanking new!

Normally a little rub with my cloth for an important shot if im on for a birdie maybe. Normally every month in the summer but winter they could do with a soak every shot.

This is my first season approaching though and with a handicap at the front of my mind i will take a little more pride.

Spit, rub the grooves with a tee peg, wipe with cloth, hit, wipe worst of clag off, repeat as necessary. My clubs havent seen soapy water and they still look great.

I clean the club after every shot with water and a brush then dry it on a towel so they never need doing away from the course apart from the grips now and then.

Important shot that's me, quick spit and rub grooves with tee and I'm good to go.....

Clean grips how dirty can they get and what product do you use?

I never have :o

They have been cleaned by the service staff at East Sussex National fairly regularly though - they do it after you've played, as a courtesy, very nice service they have there.

I'll give them a quick wipe after a shot if particularly muddy and clean grooves before some shots then soapy water once a week / fortnight.

I'm also wondering how grips can be cleaned and how dirty they actually get

After a shot they get a rub with a towel then before I use it again have a quick scrub with one of those wire brush thingys. They never leave the bag when I get home and I never soak or wash the grips, would rather spend time with my wee girl after playing.

Mine get a wash after every round. I have an old windowlene type bottle with some diluted cleaning agent and water, along with a meguires car detailing brush. Works wonders, a quick spray, followed by a quick scrub, wipe dry with an old towel, and they are done! Takes 5 minutes maximum. I paid so much blooming money for the clubs, I am damned if I am not going to look after them!!

I wipe the head after each shot. The clubs get a full wash everytime I get home. Plus a good scrub of the grips. Had the same grips on my old clubs for 10yrs and they were still like new. So saves you money, why would you not do it with the price they cost. It only takes 10 mins or so. Do you wash your car?

the cause of the 4+ hour round.

Wipe it with a towel as you walk after every shot. Jobs a good un!
