I don't get the negativity over Christmas. It really is the best time of year. You are buying gifts for people. The pubs are full, for a change (lordy were they full in Macc on Saturday night!). Everyone that's out has a smile on their face (mostly). If we could just have 24 degrees and glorious sunshine, it would be perfect. LOL

Same in Chippenham on Saturday evening for the lights turn on. Loads out, lots of families and everyone having a good time. Wouldn't have thought that it would be possible when half the town centre was under water this time last week.

Every year it's the same for me. First week of December feels like we're still in the back end of October - it can't be Christmas already. Then all of a sudden it's only two weeks away and I've done zero Christmas shopping. 😫 I don't know what to buy anyone and I don't know what to ask for either as I've bought myself what I want all year.

9 days in and we're still going strong with the Elf, I know loads moan about it but their little faces searching to see what he's done make it worthwhile.
It also helps get my 7 year old out of bed for school.

I have all the fun of not being with my ex who I was with for nearly 25 years and i could find presents for in my sleep, to having to xmas shop for my new partner who I am still learning about. This is a whole new Xmas shopping nightmare :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Bit of both for me. Been with mine 15 years but still don't have a clue what she would want until she tells me.

A bit of a shock today as I fell off an 8 foot ladder whilst putting up the outside decs.
Lady Doon rushed to the rescue, I had a bit of a sore elbow and bruised bottom, I suppose I was quite lucky that I was om the bottom step at the time..

Here’s a treat for you to try (wife and I still do this)… Go out xmas eve to shops, about 4/4;30pm split up with 20quid each to find a pressie for each other in less than an hour, and it cant be crap or voucher nonsense

Just had a random discussion at work about whether tinsel is still needed at Christmas. The group was split down the middle, half think it is naff (me included) and the others think it is a Christmas necessity. What are the forum's view - Naff or Nice?
