Just spent an hour or so stocking up the alcohol fridge in time for the festive period. Reckon I took more time, love and care on it than I did on decorating the tree!

Is there anything more aesthetically pleasing than the pre-Christmas fully stocked alcohol fridge?!

How’s everyone doing dinner wise, Anyone made a start yet?

I’ve been at it since 5pm…Turkey crown stuffed, slathered in a packet of butter and wrapped in streaky bacon.
Potatoes, carrots, parsnips and sprouts peeled and in water.
Cranberries cooked and cooling.
On my 4th can of Hazy Jane and the Chinese is ordered. Merry Christmas everyone.

Nothing done yet, panic in the Christmas kitchen is all part of the fun of the day, gets the voices raised and the drink flowing.

Did my cake 2 months ago, pudding a month ago. Mainly because I could claim I needed a bottle of rum, (not brandy),which is empty now .
Turkey is cooked and all the carrots, potatoes and parsnips ready for roasting.
Sprouts have been slowly bubbling for over a week.
It'll still go to pot once my wife and I are next to each other in the kitchen, with sharp implements, before family arrive

Lamb's been in the slow cooker since 12.15. Should be ready by about 6 ish.

Pretty much as expected, all hands on deck, lots of laughs, drinks, swearing and shouting of "Chef!", with an excellent Christmas dinner delivered only half an hour late.

Grandmother in law every single year gets me a marks and Spencer jumper. For past about 5 years or so ..

She said this time sorry it's boring , I was trying to not sound sarcastic because genuinely it's one of my favourite gifts because I always like the style and she always remembers what colours she's got me before so Ive got a nice selection now to pick from

Unfortunately today it's warm enough that I'm in shorts lol

Were there always public transport problems at this time of year?

Apparently it was a very cloudy last two weeks of December and the star in the east wasn’t spotted until too late…might also have been difficult to get hold of a long distance camel at short notice that time of year.

Spent the whole day unable to move in bed at my mom and dad's bungalow, no idea what it was just wiped out completely as I could hear everyone else having fun. 41 year old man curled up in his parent's bed again. Right as rain the next day.
