So do I. This way you set the amount of loft needed at impact and return the club so the same loft strikes the ball, you hold onto the club through impact with no release and this is what keeps the loft. Making an early hinge is a good way to control the power needed in the shot, you then dont need to make a big backswing with the arms. You can control the height and run of the ball by making a shallow or steeper swing at the ball, this is controlled by your stance and posture. More upright and level for a shallower swing and weight forward where you hit down more. Another important aspect is the type of lie the ball has.

It's a problem I see quite a lot.
People close to the green try and play a wristy shot and end up decelerating into the ball, duffing it 5 feet in front of them.
If you use the no-wrist method, you can be much more positive with the stroke

Every time!!!

Nearly always duff the first and then step up and hit the next one well.
