Changing putter for differing conditions

Having read on another thread that some people do & others don't like the inserts on different putters it got me thinking.

Does anyone change their putter for the different seasons or when playing courses with different green speeds.
ie, soft insert for fast/summer greens, or metal/milled faces for slow/winter greens?

I never have, but my last putter was a Ping with the blue insert and I struggled to get the ball to the hole with that on slow greens. But sometimes I find I can race my milled face putter on very fast greens.

doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me - it's the same as having 2 putters in the bag for up hill and downhill putts (make that 3 - one for the level ones too!)

I use two diff putters.

I've a Scotty 2.5 i use in summer when our greens can be very fast.

And a 2.7 thats slightly diff and way heavier i use in winter or if i'm going somewhere o know the greens are much slower.

I seem to remember Tiger changed his putter before the Open last year as the greens were too slow?

I tend to use the same putter regardless of how fast or slow the green is playing.

I prefer the consistant feel of the same putter and feel I can judge the pace better.

It may take a green or three to dial in the pace but plain sailing from there

I used to use my 2ball (much heavier) during the winter, and swap to my Redneck during summer.

Sopped doing that when I got the ghost Spider,it now stays in the bag all year.

This changing of insert for different feel/speeds was the reason for odyssey coming out with the flip face putter.

That's what I was thinking about.
I wondered if it is somethingthat people were doing and Odyssey thought that there was a market for it.
I only own one putter so it's not something I do especially because our greens are generally slow no matter what time of year.
I also thought that, as so many people on here appear to have a multitude of golf clubs, they may be chopping and changing as a result.

I had an 'away bag' in the boot of a mate's car - for use at his place - which used to have a different Betti CS putter. Found that worked better on the quicker, and different make-up, greens than my Baby Bee. Couldn't bring myself to hit it hard enough to get the ball to the hole from long range yesterday, so the putter I sold to my playing partner would have been great.

Haven't Odyssey just launch a putter for this very reason that has a flip face. One side has the softer insert and the other a milled steel face.

I think the idea is to save having 2 putters and you jsut rotate to use which face you want to use before the round.

Looked at this yesterday in AG...£280! Cheaper buying 2 putters

There seems to be some "anti" sentiment to this idea. I can't understand why. Do what suits you, but make a plan.

I've taken a light blade putter with me to a course with v.fast greens, rather this than take my sledgehammer mallet and knock everything miles past. :)

Was using my Anser last year but put my odyssey white ice with its softer insert in for the Powerplay event at the Grove last summer. Glad I did when the sign said the greens were running at 11 on the stimp. Still too quick for my dodgy stroke. In normal circumstances though I'd prefer one putter, one feel and trust myself
