Ive suffered with my back for a few years and when i was fitted for my clubs in april the pro recommended ping cfs stiff shafts in my G25 irons even though my swing speed with my 7 iron was only around 82mph as i only have a 3/4 swing and i loaded the shaft at the top of the swing. The dispersion was tighter than with regular shafts with only a small amount of distance loss. Since then my back has played up again and so i find ive slowed my swing with a smoother transition. I then found that more often than not when hitting a ball it felt more of a slap than the nice click i used to get so i went on the flightscope today and i have indeed lost about 5mph off my clubhead speed.

7 Iron stats. Carry 141yds, Club speed 77mph, Ball speed 103mph, Smash 1.33 (range balls if that makes a lot of difference)
6 Iron stats. Carry 149.3 Club speed 80mph, Ball speed 106mph, Smash 1.33. "

Ive checked with Ping and they want £41 per club to change shafts. So i dont know if its worth the money to change or work on trying to gain club head speed but ive got to think of my back, plus im 6' 2" but built like a pencil so working out isnt going work at my age :p. Other option is to sell them and buy the same in regular shafts?

£41 to change each shaft isn't really an option. If you were to sell on eBay & buy 2nd hand regular off eBay I doubt you'd loose much money.

I would be looking for a second hand set and then selling the current one. Can't see £41 per shaft being viable and once you offset the cost of the 2nd hand set against the amount you get for selling the present set it will definitely be less

Thats sort of what i was thinking. Its only 6 clubs 5 to PW could sell them and order a new set in regular flex. My clubs are standard length 2degrees up so hopefully should be easy to shift, or learn to swing faster :D

Sorry to be blunt but what is wrong with your back? Have you been diagnosed by a specialist, have they offered up advice as to what you can do to aid your situation. Or do you just feel its a bit gypy

Another double herniated((slipped) disk. Had an op 2 years ago to have a partial removal but ive done the same dics just the opposite side this time :(. Its resulted in yet another trapped nerve that looks like another op but ive been told if they remove the disk it will need to be fused so a longer lay up and definately different swing
