For those of you with a huge attention to detail you will see that I now have a nike 3 wood in my bag. This was a present for x-mas however I havent updated my signature untill now.

Some of you may remamber me saying I will not purchase anymore nike gear after they were so reluctant to help out with the charity day so I just wanted to make this clear.

Its a huge shame cause I've tested the sumo irons a few times and really like them but I cant bring myself to buy them after what i said. Can anyone reccomend some TM or Callaway irons that may do the job? I'm happy with my g5's and i'm not looking for an immediate or urgent change.

I suppose i'm just hoping i'll pick up some irons and every ball goes exactly where i want it to, theres no way it my technique cause thats perfect

If your G5s don't need changing, I don't think you will find much that is better, in terms of consistency and quality (although I hate the brand, and it bugs me to write this). If you aren't playing well with these, sadly, it can only be you.

Why change?

I make you right murph and as i said i'm in no rush to change, my G5's could last me years. But the driving range i frequent is at an american golf and its so hard to not look through the shiny new sets of irons.

Imurg, i'm like a zombie when i see all that shiny metal mate. I just start wondering over to it without even thinking.

I'll be cured soon cause i'm going to start going to another range which has better short game practise facilities.

Well if you really want to go down this rocky road I can recommend the TM tour burners. They are less chunky than the burner with a smaller head and thinner top line and have a smaller cavity. I don't think I'll be changing anytime soon (did I just write that!!!!!). Otherwise I'd suggest the Cally X22 tours but these don't seem to be on general release everywhere yet.

My advice would be to bide your time and wait a few more months and then find a TM or Cally (or any other make you fancy) demo day and try them out there. I love them as you get free range balls and can try the latest makes in differenct specs plus drivers, hybrids and wedges. I normally try and get there pretty early and spend hours just trying everything. I must be getting bad - I went to Silvermere to a TM day last Autumn (about 30 miles from where I live) and the rep recognised me from two earlier demos I had been at in the April and July.

minty 18 what's your main reason/s for changing irons...?

If its flightpash & height, why not try the i10 or S57.

There again I was impressed with Callaway X20 tour irons with the rifle shafts. But of course that's my personal preferences...

There really are so many nice irons about these days.
