Hope we are all well folks? Im relaxing in front of the golf replay and reading the forum (I love holidays!)

Reading the post by medwayjon about all the gear no idea, got me thinking about a challenge we could have………. You have £250 to kit out a golfer with a full set of 14 clubs (not a premade box set) they have a handicap of 30, right handed and are decent ball strikers.

This could go down as well as a fart in the space shuttle or could prove to be fun?

I will post my set ASAP.......

You've gone over.....

MD Golf S/S Forged Oversized Irons 3-PW Steel £119 (Online)

Ben Sayers M1 Driver £29.99 (AG)

RAM FX-7 utitily 16 degrees and 21 degrees £35 (17.99 each) (Online)

Masters carry/stand bag £19.99 (my pro)

Gear 4 Golf GX Tru Line #2 Putter £9.99 (AG)

T/M glove £4.99 (online)

Loads of Donnay Titanium balls and cheap tees (Sports world).

Gosh, that was tough.

Come on £9!!!!!!

Where your wedges?

My driver wipes the floor with yours! (I have one)

Good choice of irons!

It's a better driver....but 8.5 stiff.....c'mon lad"!!!)(*&^%$£
I have a driver.....M1....??

I admit, I need a wedge for this set up, maybe there's room for a £2.99 sports world super-de-dooper Dunlop bronze.

The 8.5 stiff driver is a tad ambitious for our case study I agree, but it will be character building for him.

If our mystery guy is too tight to spend an extra £9, he can jolly well learn to hit an 8.5 stiff. probably be more successful than a £2.99 wedge!

Just seen on ebay, a set of callaway x20's 3-pw, scotty newport 2 plat pro putter, titleist tourbag, Nike sumo 10.5 deg driver and 3 wood and they were throwing in a vokey spin mill 56deg and a bucket of pearl grade prov's, current bid is 249.90 and bidding closes in 20 secs.

Ha ditty Ha Ha, Well done you got me. April fools day is not for another week so well done for getting one in early.

Haha sorry mate, I tried to make it as rediculous as I could possibly think, I think I should maybe have added a powercaddy in there too!
One of the prereq's were a 30 handicapper who hits the ball quite well, that made me giggle.
I would advise the cheapest set of macgregors, regal putter and a couple of bb plus drivers and woods, that would comfortably come in under 250 I reckon and would be good enough to inspire you to get out and play. From then on I think you can only improve as your game does the same.
