There have been more than enough posts about why Celtic Manor shouldn't have had the Ryder Cup.

But holes 14 to 16 has to be the best stretch of finishing holes for the event. Great hole variety and as for the spectator banking and stands from 16 onwards, unreal atmosphere.

Agree but please put the tee up for tomorrow on 18 and let us see some more drama.

It would be good for the entertainment but I think it would favour the Americans, they are longer than us man for man.

No doubt that everyone would be able to get up in 2 but it just has a knock on effect then.

Still playing into their hands: we may be able to get up with a 3 wood, they use a long iron. We get up with a long iron, they go in with a mid iron.

I just think that they are longer (man for man) than us.

Anyway, not many matches will tee off the 18th anyway, hopefully the enough points will be in the bag by then for it to make any difference.

True, it's a good course for the event but I can't say it appealed to me as a course I'd make a special effort to play.

That it is. I've turned down options to play it (money/cost), although having seen it, I am tempted.

I wonder how much is chopped off the length if you play off the yellows as a visitor.

I hyave wanted to play it for a while but I think it'll take a fair bit of work to let it recover from the battering its taken with 40,000 people wandering on it. I don't want the tee up at 18 as it would be ideal for the US team who could virtually all get home in two. If we need a half on the last I'd rather both teams were firing wedges in and rely on our guys to get it close from 100 yards rather than risking a fairway wood

Would like to play it at some point but not that high up on the to do list if im honest.

In terms of the 18th, if it comes down to the last few i'd sooner they had a wedge in their hands than a 3 wood going for the green
