Celebs who’ve passed

Sad news. I was a big Jam fan, saw them 4 times (Glasgow Apollo 1977, Reading 1978, Strathclyde Uni 1979, Loch Lomond 1980). Strange Town is their finest moment imo.

Ok. Just googled it. One of my other favourite songs, ironically.
Haven't seen the film in 30 years so would never have remembered.

Little bit of nice to know. "The first time ever i saw your face" was originally written by Ewan MacColl he of "Dirty old town" fame and father of Kirsty MacColl. He wrote it about his to be third wife, Peggy Seeger.
Roberta's version is absolute but... give Kelly Jones of Stereophonics version a listen.
Beautiful.

This thread was started by Jeff Beck's passing.
Can't remember when but I saw him as a guest of Clapton. At one point they sat on stools and sang "Moon River".
I was taken aback. Remarkable.
Then, later, he was given the stage to sing "Hi Ho. Silver Lining".
I watched him closely and said to my wife "He's not a happy man doing this".
No joy.
I learned later he hated it.
And, here we are, short of 60 years later, and its a guaranteed punch the air belter.
