Thankfully no drama in the end, the machine took the money back but can't believe I did that.

I once withdrew £750 in an over the counter bank transaction.

Put my card in my wallet and walked away from the teller leaving the money in the tray. Only twigged 10 minutes later as I was waking down the street....something nagging at the back of my mind.

Rushed back to the bank, got myself back in the queue and let folks go until I could get to the same teller. Luckily the next person to use the same teller had found the cash in the tray and been honest enough to hand it back over the counter.

That was pretty honest but I guess that person would have also known that there were many cameras recording everything.

10 days on and I haven't been reimbursed my £60 so I have just sent a message to the bank.

Or some Eastern Europeans were behind you. My daughter in London has either her phone, cash or bank card liberated from her on a regular basis. The Transport police have found them on Romanian pick pockets a few times now. Another way we are being enriched by multiculturalism.

On a regular basis? There is something else wrong then and she doesn't know how to pay attention to her stuff quite frankly.

You may not be aware how these people operate, they are very intimidating in the way they work and especially with Women.

It's not as black or white as that. A number of them hem people in and when distracted one of them goes in for the steal. They are experts at distracting people at cashpoints by dropping a fiver on the floor just as the cash is about to come from the machine, when the person bends to pick it up they grab the money and run. These people make a living from it.

Just saw a reply from my bank after querying £60 not being paid back in.

They will be making a claim to the other bank on my behalf and will let me know if they had been successful!

So much for automatic reimbursement!
