Anybody used cartakeback.com before?

The MOT and RFL are up on my old Focus tomorrow and I don't fancy it's chances of getting another MOT without some serious investment. I've just had a quote from the website for £155 if I deliver to some place in Tottenham or £140 for them to pick it up. I'm just a bit worried that they'll be like webuyanycar.com and start off offering high then start dropping the price when they get to the front door.

Any experience or thoughts?

Surely you can't go much lower than £140-£155 for a car? I'd take Mark's advice if I were you.

No idea, I've never scrapped a car before - to be fair looking at the scrap yards they point me to on the website they are my local ones probably offer me a better deal if I cut out the middle man (website) I think a few phonecalls this afternoon might be in order!

I scrapped my Zaphira at the local yard a couple of weeks ago and got £120. I could have got £180 from Cartakeback but would have had to spend hours driving it to some place 30 miles away then getting home again. In the end I just wanted rid of the car.

Take them up on the £140 collected option. If they try to knock you down just say no thanks and go back inside. Saves you running around and if they've gone to the expense and inconvenience of coming out to you, they're not in the best position to negotiate.

Used to get a lot more for scrapping cars than you do now. Good advice from Jay Gee.

Failing that- have you tried advertising it on ebay or gumtree for parts? You might get some folk happy to buy it and strip it.
