I find the term car park golfer discriminatory against people who travel to the golf club by public transport. Or indeed any other mode of transport: walk, cycle, helicopter.

I'm sure there are some bus stop golfers on this forum who have been excluded from the debate so far. It would be beneficial if we could find a more inclusive term that is appropriate to non-binary transport-fluid persons. I think we should discontinue the word golfer as well. Whereas I am a person who plays golf, I do not identify myself as a golfer.

Think this post is a perfect time to put this to bed!

For me it largely depends on what time I finish playing and also whether I’ve got in with my playing partner during the round.

I’ve got a family and so I try to tee off early, finish 11-12ish, have a drink and then go home. That way I’m back to see the family and do something with them. If I’m not finishing the round until after 1, I’ll go straight home.

If it’s a comp and I’ve not really got on with a pp for whatever reason and don’t fancy spending another 30 mins with them, I’ll make my excuses and go. This has only happened once since I joined a few months ago.

I go for a drink/sandwich probably 8 times out of 10.

It does sound to me like a lot of guys on here are sort of apologetic for not going in the house.
There is no need to imo.
Everyone’s life is different so do what suits you and your life.
I usually stay for a coffee if I play but not always it’s dependant on circumstances.
As long as you pay your fees ,you can do what you want.
