Car insurance question.

Me and the boss have decided to swap cars, we are named drivers on each others policies however she still commutes to work.
Is it best to formally exchange cars so that she is the owner of my current car and then we.change her to be the main driver on it and add the commuting bit of do we informally swap cars.and just add commuting to my policy ( might need to up the annual mileage on the policy too)

Then we have the personal plates to sort out

If you are spouses then you can just state the car is owned by person a but main driver is person b. You both have an insurable interest in the car.
