Hello im new to the site,I started playing golf last july and have improved since playing, but for some can,t keep track of my ball when I hit it, even if I hit it straight. Is this a common thing or do I need to get my eyes tested. Cheers

Welcome to the forum, I would guess you need your eyes testing Lynchy.

Either that or try using brighter coloured balls. DO you lose it against the white sky, if so your not the only one. The old farts do too :D OOh forum suicide???

its usually when its in the sky, i think i do need my eyes testing. Im only 33, and sometimes I would like to have a game on my own for practice but would loose to many balls.

Have you thought about drilling a hole through the ball & tying a length of string to it?

Follow the string when you hit a good'un,pull it back when you don't....lovely jubbly.. ;) ;)

Hi,
I have problems seeing it when i hit it over 280 its a bit*h
I had to get contacts to play golf about the same age as u first time i noticed anything was wrong with my eye sight go for contacts instead of glasses if you can.

It might not be bad eyesight. When I started in 07, I was the same. Better balance with the swing though allows a 'look up' immediately after strike and I think you do get a 'feel' for ball direction after a while.

how do you get on down the range? is it the same or do you focus better? where do you lose it, is it direction (maybe turning too far), distance (looking too long or too short) or height?

blue tinted lenses help a white ball to stand out against grass.

We all lose site of them occasionally, but if its a regular occurance I would suggest getting two things checked, one is the way you play in relationship to where your eyes are focussed throughout, and the other is your eyesight.

In the meantime could you tell me where you play and at what time? If you lose that many balls and they are good ones, I want a tee time following you! :D ;)

at the range i can see them when its floodlit and can see others people balls when they tee off. Don,t want to use coloured balls ive heard they are not as good as white ones may be wrong. Cheers for the replies.

I have a problem in certain light conditions with the ball going into the clouds and being hard to pick up. I struggle down the range mainly because the lights are always so poor and I lose them against the dark sky so if I hit more than a 6 iron I am just going on the quality of the strike and the starting ball flight.
