Been struggling with the big dog for a month or so now., went up 0.5 It's went to being the most consistent part of my game to my worst. Low and behold I win a wee bit if cash today. As per title can anew driver restore the confidence?

May bite the bullet and get a SLDR

Got a lesson on Wednesday so sorting my driving swing is top priority. I know if I can hit fairways ill have a decent score

every driver has 100 great shots installed in them. after that its gone. use them wisely. then buy a new driver! simple!

I know you have money but there is a cheaper option with 'similar' results.
Get a new shaft and switch it.
You know the driver and shaft works (in the past).
Stick something new in the same head, play about and you can go back to original if you want. The RBZ with it's shaft has become complacent. Give it some competition and it will behave ;).

The real crux of all of this is something has changed in your swing and your confidence level. You could change your shaft on a whim, you would better getting some advice and doing some research. Believe me I have been in and out of drivers chopping and changing shafts etc ... I probably will carry on for the rest of my golfing life. But here is a simple suggestion to aid you in your search, look through your bag and identify which club you really like, ask questions about why you like it... Take those answers and apply them to your driver selection. You may find some stability.

It did with me. Primarily because it's better suited to my swing.

I have a steady, borderline slow swing speed.

My previous driver was a Mizuno MP630. The set if for that is a low spin head and a medium low spin shaft. Not ideal for someone ...like me) who doesn't generate a lot of spin anyway. I couldn't get the thing off the deck. Carry distance was well down.

Switched on the recommendation of the chap who fitted me for my irons to the 910D2 with a mid launch, mid spin shaft. Instant improvement. Overall carry is massively improved and as get a much higher flight without the ball ballooning.

All because I have the correct set up.

If you have the flight and shape you want, then I would be tempted to go and see a pro and fix the flaw that's causing your issues.

If you don't have the flight and shape you want, go and speak to someone (club pro/fitter) who can guide or fit you in the right direction.

I'm guessing it's the former rather than the latter judging by what you've said though.

That said. If you want a new shiney, it's your cash, you don't need approval from anyone :D
