I'm looking for a cctv system for my van. It's been vandalised a few times and the police can do nothing about it without any evidence. I have no cctv cameras close to my home so ideally looking for something I can have in the cab that will record overnight.

I've been looking online and without spending a small fortune can't seem to find anything suitable. There seems to be loads of cameras that work whilst driving but not a lot of overnight options. I also park my van on the road as I live in a terrace house and not always able to park directly outside my house.

I'm hoping someone on here might point me in the right direction. I also don't mind buying second hand.

Thanks in advance.

Sleep in the van for a night, then crowbar the motherlovers about the bonce

Great plan. Then ITC gets done for ABH while the oiks will probably get off with a caution at the most. It's not worth doing hard time unless your family is being put at risk.

How about this?

With a car USB charger it wouldn't look out of the ordinary on the dash at night.

Or this one for a bit more money but with a lot more features.

£60 could be a good investment in the long run.

A word of warning though, I take it the camera will point outwards through the windshield?

Make sure your camera is not pointing at someones property and that it is marked as CCTV in operation otherwise you could have some major legal issues to deal with regarding invasion of privacy.

I know a fella who installed CCTV on his house due to vandals. He spent a lot of money and bought some top of the range motion sensing cameras, set up to record 24/7 onto a group of HD's.

What he didn't know was the alley behind his house was a popular spot for young erm....... loose morals if you get what I mean.

Over the course of the week he accidently captured a dozen couples mainly young adults on a friday night having intercourse. Sadly as is the way of today's youth there was some under age as well.

He was that terrified of being brandashed a pest he deinstalled the CCTV immediately, all it would take was him to see a crime comitted on the camers, send to the police as evidence then they see that stuff.

Noot good, just be careful as most laws still protect the criminal and not the victim.
