Sounds like a cracking day, plenty of good pictures on twitter. Joe Miller seems like a top bloke.
At the moment, the SLDR is on the naughty step, it is going anywhere but straight. In fact, it's not going anywhere, it's just sending the ball bobbling along the floor and stopping no more than 100yards ahead of me. I took my old Nike Dymo one, which I can actually get up in the air!
However, my buddy bought an SLDR after he had a go on mine after my fitting, and he gained 39 yards on his drive. Reason? Well, they fitted him with an X-Stiff shaft on a BB Alpha, with some low spin setting. His SLDR has a mere stiff shaft in it, which could very well be the reason. He bought a 9deg SLDR, and the BB Alpha he was fitted with was also 9deg, so no change there, but with a slightly different head technology (no sliding thing on the BB Alpha) it could have given him a bit more too!
I added 37 yards to my drives with a BB at .5degree lower... less slicey too!
Hi everyone,
On behalf of Callaway, I just wanted to thank you ALL for making it to Stoke Park yesterday. While we know you all love golf, we appreciate you taking the time to join us at events like these, given that some of you had long journeys to make, or had taken the day off just to attend.
Thanks too for the wonderful comments. While it’s obviously important for us to get you to try our latest Callaway gear (and to get you to see the benefits that result from having the best R&D team in golf) it’s more important to us that you enjoyed the day. By all accounts, you did! What’s even better..? 89 out of 90 of you had yardage gains (Ian “Imurgâ€, we all know why you were +0!)
For those of you reading this thread, but unfortunately couldn’t join us on the day, keep your eyes and ears open, both on this forum and on our social media channels, as we’re very keen to have more days like these.
For the lucky few who got to meet Alvaro, Danny and Alex, I’m sure you’ll agree we are very lucky to have such great, down-to-earth, true gentlemen of the game as part of #teamCallaway.
Regarding the video and filming from the day (a lot of you have asked!), we’re trying to turn the raw footage around as quickly as possible. I’m sure you’ll understand we have loads of content to edit, so please be patient. Once it’s ready, you guys will be the first to know.
And finally a huge thanks to Golf Monthly for partnering us on this epic event, to Stoke Park for hosting it, to TrackMan for their very clever machines, and of course to Rob Lee and Joe Miller – it seems to me Joe’s show and Rob’s behind-the-scenes insights were the two biggest highlights of the day!
Hopefully I’ll get to meet more of you at the next event. Until then, keep enjoying your golf!

My driving really went missing yesterday, even with my current driver I only averaged 213 on the trackman and Chris will tell you im longer than that, as long as him
Gutted Chris won the driver, I'm NEVER going to hear the end of it!
anyone know who I can mug for a Big Bertha Alpha 9 degrees , regular shaft![]()
Hi any chance any of these type events would be held outside the southeast?
A question to all who gained distance. Was the increase in distance readings on the Trackman / flightscope a true reflection of what you felt and saw while on the driving range.

Good to hear. I tend to be a sceptic when it comes to readings that seem to favour the product being sold, thank you for restoring my faith.:thup:For sure. I was telling the fitter the distances I felt I'd hit before Trackman threw them out and I was generally pretty close.
how much distance did you gain when you switched to the SLDr from the Nike?
these increases are very impressive- are the shafts longer? All stock shafts?
I 'glanced at' and passed by the Callaway BB stand at AG- think it's time to actually try it out.
