My suggestion instead of changing clubs,is get some lessons.
Lessons,lessons,lessons.
I'd av to agree, why not just donate the money to your pro & book some more lessons. Will new irons make that much difference??

Had a shot of my matesd 6 iron and I would be seriously looking at the x hot pro if I was in the market for irons, cracking looking set and so easy to hit.
What's a fitting at a zoo gonna do to help Homer?
It did feel heavier and stiffer but not so unmanageable that I couldn't get it away regularly. If I went to Chessington I know there would be a perfect shaft. It was the feel of the head that blew me away. Soft and yet the ball flew off it. Not a firm feel like the Rocketbladez tour but buttery
Hardly. I've not touched any of my mothers inheritance and finally found a club worth looking closer at.
Buttery you want it's got to be Muira....
I would say that lessons and new irons are probably a waste of time from a golfing perspective but it may be that the latter cheer you up so you should buy them.
I like Callaway irons and have had a set for 10 years. Great for beginner/improver levels of golf. I am just not a good enough player to manage with Mizuno or Titleist irons. They are only for the likes of Brendy really.
Homer- get yourself the most in-depth fitting you can and enjoy every minute of the experience as well as your new clubs.
Some of the comments on this thread are ridiculous.

Just stop telling the rest of the world to get a series of lessons instead! :sbox:
Maybe so,but if you insist on preaching lessons every time some one mentions new clubs then surely you've got to expect some "rediculous" comments when you start a thread about buying new irons![]()
Just curious.... why the speech marks?
To be fair - which I like to be occasionally - I think Homer only preaches lessons when somebody is thinking a new club(s) will instantly improve their game, cure a slice, etc.
I don't think HJS is under any illusions that new clubs are the miracle cure, but sometimes it's just nice to spend money on yourself.![]()
Come on mate its not like any ones been nasty to him. For the record I like Homer & enjoy reading most of the threads & posts he writes. But he was always going to get a bit of HARMLESS banter writing a thread about new irons. The voice of reason.. Finally...
To be fair to Martin, he could hardly be taking more lessons could he? He is following his own advice, he just wants a new set of irons, custom fitted at a specialist centre. What's wrong with that?
Having met, and played 36 holes with Martin, I can honestly say that he's a decent knowledgeable guy who loves his golf, and this forum. recently, it seems that he's become a bit of a whipping boy for certain sections on here, and I 'm beginning to find it a bit unsavoury. I'll admit to a few little digs of my own, but made in jest and I hope not taken in the wrong manner. Fortunately, he seems to have a skin thicker than Scousers head.. Maybe time to lay off him a bit please.....
