buying putters

so im in the market for a new putter, dont like the way my ball comes off the face as its solid metal.
have tried both the Odyssey White Hot no. 7 and 9. but what should I be looking for when buying?i have tried both on the mats, and both seem fine, so what would separate the two? both same price by the way.

I have to be honest and say putting on a mat and on a proper green are two different animals and I'd never buy a putter without trying it on grass and getting an idea for pace and feel on the putting green and with a couple of makes of ball

just bought an odyssey two ball best thing ive ever put in my bag. Make sure you get fitted for it as it makes a lot of difference.
