Bunkers and Clubs

Chaps, what is your favoured green side bunker club and do you change clubs depending on distance / lie etc.?

Greenside would be my 52* or 56* depending on the height of the bunker, ball lie etc.
Moving out from greenside the club depends on the distance and the height of the bunker, ball lie...

54* for most "standard" sand shots.

60* for a short sided splash to a tight pin.

But may got to my 50* or even PW if I want to hit a chunk and run up the green to a back flag

Green side I normally take a 56*

Took a 9 iron out of a fairway bunker last night about 120 yards from the green. Hit it to 10ft

56* most of the time. I just open or close the face to suit. Have been known to use a 5 wood from a fairway bunker though.
Have just got a 60* so will give that a try see how I get on with it.

For greenside bunkers, it's pretty much always my 56*. Anything further out depends on distance, lip height etc.

54* or 58* for me depending on how high the lip is, how much greens I have to play with, the lie of the ball and type of sand in the bunker.

I don't think there's a one club fits all approach to bunker play just like chipping

Greenside bunkers are the reason i carry a lob wedge

The only time I muss my lob wedge is green side bunkers.
56 for me always out of them now, as most people though for further away it depends on a multitude of things.

I'm old school, I guess. "Sand" wedge normally, might go to pitching wedge or 9i depending on lie, lip height, how I see the shot etc.
