I have up til now had a reasonable bunker play in that I could get out in mostly a single shot and if the sand is a little shallow then two shots at the most.

But of late I am going through a phase where my sand wedge slides completely under the ball and leaves it in the same place. I have tried altering the face angle by closing it a tad but it's very hit and miss results wise.

Has any one got any advice as to what I am doing wrong?

Here's my standard 'Bunker problem' reply!

Note the size/depth of the 'divot' - 'dollar note'!

You may be coming in too steep and imbedding the club in the sand - as opposed to letting the bounce prevent that simply 'cutting' underneath the ball.
