Bulgaria Golf

Has anyone played golf in the Varna area, thinking of booking a trip there and wondering where to base ourselves?

We don't want to be too far from the courses but also don't want to be too isolated as we'd like a few bars to go around in the evening, most of the reviews for accomodation on the courses say that the quality is not the best and it can be tricky to get taxis into town.

A Friend has just returned from a week. They stayed at Thracian but reckoned in hindsight staying at The Lighthouse would have been better as it’s closer to the town and there is nothing at Thracian (beyond what he says is the most outrageously scenic course he has ever played).

I’m looking at Bulgaria next year but have folk from Dublin as well as UK and flights are not pretty at all.

Thanks, reading the reviews that seems to be the case, we're contemplating staying in a nearby town & getting shuttle buses to the courses, either 15 or 30 minutes depending on hotel. We have the same issues with flight connections but the timings for WizzAir through Liverpool in September work well for us.
