..or so I thought. Played in my seventh competition yesterday since getting my handicap, I have been gradually improving. 16,16,21,24,27,30 and now 32 points. Handicap ha went from 25 to 25.5 (one comp non-qaliying) This week playing off 26 I shoot 100 course SSS is 70 so I presumed I had made the buffer for the first time, only to get the e-mail from howddido today and notice that the CSS for yesterday was 69. Missed it by one and another +0.1 for me. Oh well at least I'm getting closer.

played my 1st comp off my new h.c of 26 yesterday and shot 96 for a net 70, not sure what css is but hopefully its buffer and I stay at 26. Gutted aswell cos I lipped 4 putts and definitely left a few more due to poor chips around the green :(

Hang on in there, it will come good soon

Clearly you are getting more used to being in a comp situation, you were given 25 so in a non pressure round/s you got to 25, it will all start come back to you soon enough.

Know the feeling Lawerence , got to 8.1 early in the year , played a tuesday comp , shot 36 pts . happy days in the buffer i think . nope css goes to 39 & .1 back , the very same the following tuesday , .1 for 36pts again. was disgusted ,

Your geting there mate . slow & steady & youl get down & be able to play to it ..

Thanks all. I was actually very happy with the round, because without a few twists of bad luck I definatly could have shot better. I have a great habit recently of managing to hit saplings full on the trunk from 20 yds away. 3 times on Sunday after doing it twice in a round a couple of weeks ago. On all occasions there has only been the one sapling between me and my target. Playing partner on the other hand ends up in the middle of a forest, takes a hit and hope and manages to thread his through. Also had a wicked kick left into water on our 6th, so I know I can shave a few shots off yet. On the upside my round had 4 pars and on two of these I lipped out for the birdie.

Keep plugging away mate. It'll come good. As things start to click into place your handicap should start to tumble.

I know the .1 feeling all to well. During this stupid swing re-build I've had about 13 consecutive .1's back and finally buffered last weekend. So things are starting to come round for me.

Frustrating but you have to be patient.
