Hi guys first time poster but have browsed the boards a few months.

I would like to buy an electric trolley for the first time and I'm hoping for some suggestions.

Budget it £500 and I just want one that will do the job well.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and hopefully giving me some good replies.

Golfstream revolution, English made, better quality than the "mainstream" brands. You pay a bit extra but well worth it imo (they will do you a deal if you ask) and their customer service is excellent

Not sure if it makes a difference as I think it should fit all trolleys but I have a Wilson tour bag that I'm very happy with and will want to keep using it.

£500...wow!

That's taking it seriously.

I'm not in that bracket, but can I make a suggestion please?

I'm into cars, all sorts, but I only ever buy German or Japanese. (I also have a Ford, but that's just for fun and soon to be replaced).

My friends with lots of dosh (I have some, despite being somewhat socialist) find customer service more important than anything else. I mean; you could buy a Rolls Royce or Ferrari, but if it goes wrong, you'd want a quick fix that doesn't involve hassle and general grief. As much as I like the Powakaddy and Motocaddy products, it never ceases to amaze me the kind of trouble people have with £400+ trolleys. But as my Audi-owning friends insist, almost no product is 100% "never" going to break down, it's the way you get looked after.

On this alone, I would recommend GoKart. OK, so the trolley may only be half your budget, but *from all I've heard* they will look after you. I've heard SO many stories about everyday problems with certain "premium" brands that I couldn't recommend any of them.

A new playing partner of mine crashed his "premium-brand" trolley and broke both wheels. He took it on the chin, phoned up customer service and prepared his C/card. They were cool about it, and took the money for replacement bits including some other parts. It took over 2 weeks to get the bits. Poor chap, he's not well (long term) and this was their idea of "customer service". Bankers.

Sorry, but it makes me cross. If you've got the money, you should get the service.

It is a lot of money but it's all winnings from a good week on the Horses so want to get myself something I'll appreciate. Thanks so much for the replies so far guys.

I think with that budget you should be looking at something with a lithium battery.
Lighter, better life and a charge lasts longer.
Don't know if Gokart do a lithium battery option, but if they do I'd jump at it.

My trolley of choice with be a lithium motocaddy s1, but the new pro version. My mates got the older s1 fitted with a lithium battery, will do 27 holes no issues on the 18 hole battery abd is silent. I've got an older exPlorer which is the 06 mOdel

During the week I got the older S1, my first time with an electric. Used for one round so far and delighted with it. So my first impressions of Motocaddy is very good. Obviously it's too soon to give definate feedback but it's looking like being one of my better golf purchases.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Went for the S3 pro in the end and feel like a got a good deal. Haven't had a chance to get out on the course with it yet but looking forward to see how it performs

After spending a huge chunk of money, I'm disappointed that you are not referring to the S3 as a 'she', like I did with my first car (which cost the same as your trolley).

Ah ha! I recognize that name. Nice to see you on board sir! And wouldn't you know it, looking to blow your gambling winnings on something. +1 for the Go Kart, great bit of kit and best customer service out there, they honestly can't do enough for you.

I'm going to give you some very good advice.

Buy a basic Motocaddy, Powakaddy or Go-Kart and with the cash you save buy a spare battery. Forget the bells and whistles as they will only cause you problems in the long run. An on/off switch and speed control is all you need and will minimise the problems you could have with a trolley with more functions.

Hi, like NO1 i too am after an electric trolley and have narrowed it down to a Go Kart or Motocaddy, i have got mates who own Motocaddys so i know they are nice and quiet, so a question to all Go Kart owners, how noisy are they as i went on You Tube and the video i watched it did seem quite noisy.

+1. The more buttons there is the more can and usually will go wrong
