I am looking to get a set of maximum forgiveness irons but I am on a very limited budget. I have seen sets of Benross (Maxspeed & Hotspeed)and John Letters (T8+) Irons on Ebay for £150 or less.

I know loads of people will tell me to avoid cheaper makes but I really can't afford any more and to be honest my game at the moment doesn't justify spending too much on equipment.

Any opinions or advice would be appreciated

Callaway X20, Diablo Edge, maybe RAZR X..
TM Burner maybe
Pings might be a little expensive but you may find G10s in your region
Don't discount the big names, older 2nd hand sets can still be very good.

Just seen a set of Callaway X Tour irons on ebay for £115 with free postage, 3 to p/w. You still need to look for higher lofted wedges though

Benross are a decent make. Plenty of older models worth looking at. If you want Callaway and can find them still (they are pretty old) the X14 was an excellent model and perhaps not as chunky as the X20 incarnation
