British Masters TV coverage

He's hit a couple of nice ones since we first commented. Just seemed to smack a nice one down the middle, further than GMac although he's not particularly long either.

What's really interesting, though, is the caddy takes the M1 back and puts a Mizuno headcover on it.....

that's always been the case whilst he's has a TM in the bag

They are going to do some Spring specials - when they publish them I might see if a few want to do a couple rounds

Love Woburn. 3 fantastic courses. Would disagree with you though LP on which is best - for me it's the Duchess. The Dukes does have the best par 3 though - the 3rd is probably the most pleasing on the eye I've played.

Would definitely be up for another Forum meet at Woburn.

Every time I play the Duchess I think it's my favourite - then I play the Dukes and that's my favourite :D

It's all about what sort of course takes your eye - I don't think there is a wrong answer

Bearwood Lakes is better than all three though :D

You've gone and started something now LP.

Never played BL or the Marquess, but I thought the Duchess was visually stunning and my faviurite over the Dukes

Marquess is the best and is on a par with Bearwood Lakes in my opinion In fact don't tell Paul, but it might be slightly better.:ooo:

Having carried a scoreboard round it for two days, I can't wait to play it.

Hennie Otto was in my group, and he was 2 over par with ten to play, and had a 20 footer for par, and just gave up. Just went and putted without checking the line when no one was ready, and took no time over any shots for the rest of the round. His caddie didn't even bother going back to the tees with him. Four putted the last including a backhanded swipe that didn't touch the hole. That said another player in his group also four putted one green.

The cut was level par, so he probably needed to play the back nine in three under. Not an impossible ask, and just seem unprofessional to me, and not good to watch.

The Par 3's let the Marquess down for me

And hasn't Otto got form for that sort of stuff ?

Par threes are not brilliant, not bad though but the fours and fives are superb. Great fairway bunkering. I like the fact there is more room than the other two courses, and it is more of a parkland course. Dukes and Duchess are forest courses, and I hate trees.:)

Greens are better on the Marquess, and that came from a member. Only thing I am not so keen on is the sand. Bit like builders, quite heavy.

I told the lady scorer that Otto is on a short fuse, so not surprised.

The Marquess helps the people that can't drive it straight

The sand is heavy - the bunkers had all new sand in them about 5 years ago I think , it's even worse when wet

Think the greens on the Marquess are true as you can get but on the Dukes there is far more subtle breaks in each green

I have never seen so many short putts missed over the last two days. Broberg's caddie said they were just about the best greens they had played on this year in Europe, even though he didn't hole much on day one. Looks like he got on better today though with a 67.

Looked like there were a few lip outs today

Some the greens you need to putt at 90 degrees to get near the hole if you are in the wrong position

I loved the Marquess - only played it once in an open a couple of years back - unfortunately greens had not recovered from maintenance but would love to play again when they are slick. Having played the other two several years earlier, I definitely remember the Marquess as my favourite - but still may need a pitstop to work out strategy on the signature par 5 (7th??). I played the dukes again last year and that did not change my mind but i need to play the Marquess again as i cannot remember enough. The Duchess was too tight for me and it has been 10 years since last play but the memory was of a very strong finish - maybe the last 4 or 5 holes - and probably a better end than the other two courses?? I agree with Phil that the par 3s may be the weak point on the Marquess but one was spectacular - a long downhill one circa 13 or 14? My only other memory was that maybe the last few holes after a stunning long par 5 were a bit weaker than the rest? Would love to have another crack on this next year - but it is expensive!

I was warming to Aphibarnrat after initially not really taking to him but now I have lost all respect for him.

A ball straight into the crowd and no shout of "Fore" and imo so disrespectful to the fans that have travelled miles and payed good money to see them play.

They might not get a favourable kick if they shout fore ! - A signed glove makes it all better though

The sooner they start fining and suspending players for not going it the better

I agree the only way to start improving the game is fines and suspensions.

Not easy to administer as im sure players will moan about consistency.
The same as slow play im sick of reading about it but nothing is being done.
Look at the players today and their yardage books they even get them out on the greens now.

On the green now they are looking at a 3D image of the green and the notes they have made about the pace and the slopes etc
