Looks like that aswell as giving away lots of tickets, that Sky has decided to show coverage of Thursday and Friday are being shown on Sky 1, aswell as the usual sports channel.

Whilst it's not complete coverage, and not really that surprised that Sat&Sun will be only on sports channels, it's a welcome break to see something being slightly more freely available.

Nicely spotted! Will give me something to watch on Thursday on the day off! aha!

Apologies Brian I didn't see this & started another thread above

Has Donald always done this? looks like a cardinal sin when putting.

Those watching, has there been much in-play commentary from Nick Dougherty? If so was it insightful/useful/a waste of space etc

Not so far - or not that I've noticed. He's due out soon though so perhaps not commentating today?

One of them was mentioning a Burger and Hot Dog stall and then their favourite bangers and mash - noting that he couldn't mention the brand of sausage. Which is I guess...insightful - into his eating predilections

this was probably BOXY from experience dont try a hotdog eating challenge with him;)

He's just started talking :-)

Edit - hadn't realised he would be talking into the microphone during his round...

Dougherty did the clinic shown at 5.30 after the golf coverage along with Tim Barter. Good way to spend thirty minutes and if its a sign to come then I think it's positive. I was working so missed most of the coverage and look forward to see what they do at the weekend. Ultimately though the pictures should be allowed to tell the tale. That should be the same whatever the sport

Did anyone see me scoreboard carrying ?:) Back again tomorrow, so hopefully get one of the leading groups. Sunday I am marshalling by the putting green and first tee. Should get to see all the players tee off, and then be free to follow the leaders round.

Where are you staying mate ?

I thought the coverage was excellent today. Innovations like the so-called "fairway tracer" - basically a mobile protracer that allows them to track approach shots rather than just tee shots was good. Miked up player, Dougherty, was an interesting experiment although they possibly didn't know exactly how best to use it without being too intrusive. Plus, of course, all day coverage largely uninterrupted (yes there were adverts).

The masterclass at end was great too, even if the main learning point was that Westwood can't hit a draw! :D Good on him for doing that though.

Bodes well for the Open next year!
