Just back from 9 holes with my regular partner and remarked how well he was hitting the ball, noticeably further than usual.
He said it was the ball, a Bridgstone E6 I think,he got as a gift when subscribing to a new magazine.
Anyone tried them?

Yep, used them for a while whilst on offer and thought they were a good ball. I've got a load of orange ones which I use for frosty conditions.

Only reason I don't use them now is that the ad333 is a lot cheaper

Thanks duncan,very helpful.
If my partner keeps out driving me I may try to sneak one out of his bag.

I would never suggest that one ball was longer than another (some may work better with some player traits but that a different issue) but the E6 really does seem to go straighter - esp noticable off the tee.

Just changed to Bridgestone but using the extra soft. It takes a good ball to beat my old favourite DX2 but these are so good I bought 3 boxes whilst they still had 3 extra balls free

Has anybody noticed how "certain balls suit certain clubs" what I mean that is its one of the first things I noticed when I started playing properly, for instance if I lost a ball I used to just pick another ball outta the bag and "T" it up without even looking at it but I could always tell if it was a different type than the one I'd just lost by the way the club/ball sounded/reacted when I hit it, these days I'm a bit more particular about ball choice !...

I used E6's all through the winter. They are definitely longer for me, as I never adjusted my summer distances when using them. Normally I'm a club shorter in winter so I'd say they were a club longer.

I got plenty of spin on full shots (backed up by a launch monitor) but the reason I've switched back to a premium ball when the weather got better is they don't spin anywhere near as much on chips and pitches.

The e6 is my choice of ball. Good distance, and minimal side spin. It also feels great, and is exceptional on the green. As most of you know Bridgstone Uk are pulling out. I was told today that Srixon are offering to replace all Bridgestone balls with their own, free of charge. This is quite a clever marketing ploy if you think about it. I have just bought myself a stack to keep me going, so if it's your choice of ball as well, I suggest you get yourself on ebay. The best offer at the moment is 20 pearl grade balls for £14.95 delivered.
