At The Open has to be Westwood. Came in with high hopes of a maiden Major. Putting had looked ok with his new putter, but just didn't work out for him, too many errors.
Anyone else? And who has been the biggest surprise?

A big surprise for me is Alker - not in contention to win but a very solid tournament so far. Didn't expect him to make the cut. Not surprised with Westwood - the English just do not seem to be able to get the job done in majors despite having a couple of the best players going around.

Luke.

Almost no wind, almost no rain, target golf to fairway spots and then good places on the greens.

Should be right up his street.

Our "big three" - Donald, McIlroy, Westwood; just never competed. Add Justin Rose to that list.

Lawrie - good first round, hung in yesterday but imploded today.

Ricky Fowler - I had high hopes after his good showing last year.

Mickleson!

The course looks ****! Stuck in a housing estate with main roads running by. Watching players tee off with white van man driving by in the background. No sea views no dunes.

Looks terrible on TV.

Just keep The Open north or the border and over in Ireland on proper golf courses.

Think it's got to be the weather leading into the Championship. It has fundamentally altered the way the course should be played. Even today, it's not going to be a proper link test as there will still be patches on there that are still soft and wet.

Having said that, whoever wins will have adapted to the conditions best and played the best golf.

The real winner is the game of golf.
