Thought i had a shocker st the weekend but wasnt too bad.
My gross was 102 my net was 75 so I was 3 over.
Just had a good look at score card front I was 21 over par and back only 9over. Out of interest I worke out points. Front 9 11 back 9 22 so 33 in total. Which is Wierd as I had a shocking front 9 and my best back ever. and only just rocked in above handicap. If that was a comp I'm guessing I would still go up .1?
My best front 9 is 44 9over par. And 22points.
This shows the inconsistency in my game which is my biggest problem as I never put both together. When I'm playing well I'm not bad but When I play bad it's a shocker

ah right... yeah i didnt unserstand all that buffer and catagory etc. slowly getting the gist of it by reading various threads this evening. Always heard people talk about it etc
What kinda score would i be looking at to start getting cut then?

is css different from sss?
par is 72 off whites and sss is 71
par 72 off yellow and sss is 69

There are mixed opinions on CSS, but the short answer is that it is supposed to reflect the difficulty of the course on a given day.

It can go down 1, and up a maximum of 3.

oh well sunny day its lovely windy day its hellish at times its a 3club difference one some holes as we play right along the cliffs. I suppose this is something i could ask the pro before heading out. got my battle plan anyway. Couple lessons to sort me out a bit then get round near the 20ish mark hopefully lower. cheers for explaining all that

It's calculated on the number of players in Categories 1-3 who play to SSS +2 or better. The more in that group, the lower CSS is. It's such a complex calculation that its all done by the Computer.

no one scored under par on Sundays medal, best was a net 70, CSS was 69 (same as par), I shot a 73 net so 3 over and as a cat 4 = no 0.1

all our CSS and h/c cuts/.1's are handled by handicap master software. I dont even bother to try and get my head round it Connor, I play, score crap then check the result online afterwards

I came 7th btw on countback, not bad with 2 8's and 2 7's on the card and a load of missed putts :)
