Best wet/cold weather gloves

I just use my normal glove. If it’s raining heavily enough to need special wet gloves then it’s probably best to be indoors.

If I’m playing in the rain I’ll take a spare glove just in case. Keeping a dry towel under an umbrella to wipe grips and taking the gloves off between shots, which I do anyway stops it getting wet.

It's fine, I'll sacrifice that to keep the feeling in my fingers. What kind of supernatural substance grips more when it's wet anyway? I'm sure they'll work fine either way.
Was originally developed/adapted from the material used by Waterskiers in their gloves. I'm sure technology has moved on since then and more modern materials are now used

Voyager was kind enough to send me his MacWets, but I tried them today and unfortunately I agree with the negative reviewers - grip was great but as they soaked up more and more water my hands were frozen. By the 12th there was no point having great grip when I couldn't feel my hands anymore.

Voyager has said he doesn't particularly want them back, so I'll pay it forward - if anyone wants a free pair of MacWets in M/L / size 8 then message me and they shall be yours. 👍🏻 (Once I've dried them out and cleaned them up.)

I think I'll be getting another FootJoy one.

Further to the above - I did enjoy the grip the MacWets provided if not the freezing cold hands, so I've now taken a punt on the 'Climatec' version which apparently are fleece-backed for added warmth. Could be a winner if they do as they say.

I too played yesterday, rained pretty much the whole front 9, at times very heavy rain and the temperature was very cold. Was wearing my macwets and whilst the grip was fine, my hands were freezing.

It stopped raining after the 9th and I couldn’t wait to get the macwets off and wear a normal glove. Must admit, I’ve never had a problem with cold hands in them before, so maybe it was especially cold. Next time it’s that cold and raining I’ll just try and keep normal gloves dry.

Shame really because it’s quite nice wearing macwets and not being bothered about trying to keep grips dry and off the ground!

MacWets for me for a few reasons:

1- the FJ Rain tend to make my grip stronger making me prone to losing it left.
2- when wet the FJ version seems to hold the water making my hands even colder, with the MW’s the thinner palm grip coupled with the mesh on the back hand allows me to squeeze excess water out a lot easier which again helps keep my hands warmer.

MacWet gloves with the FJ rain towel seems the ultimate combo.

Interesting, I found the complete opposite yesterday. The regular MacWet was absolutely saturated with water, I could hear them squelching when I gripped the club, and my hands were frozen after 12 holes. I never found that with the FJ one I used before.

If you clench your fist you can generally squeeze a lot of excess water out, this doesn’t happen with the FJ.

As long as you squeeze the excess frequently the hands shouldn’t be as cold…. In theory.
