Best value golf course that you have played/visited?

Played Royal County Down a the back end of March in 2004 for £40. Course was in top nick (see my album). Also got Royal Porthcawl on the last day of winter for £35 including a lunch in 2006.

Played in a 4BBB open at Accrington a couple of years ago in late September. There was a freak "Indian summer" going on and it was knocking on 80F. Course was still in great nick and all for the princely sum of £8.........including a bacon barm and mug of coffee on arrival.

Silloth for £15 in an open last year although by the time I came off I felt like they should be paying us. The weather was probably the worst Ive played in.
Me NWJ Birchy and Fish scored about 30pts between us on the front 9  It was brutal!!

Was just going to,post with this being the best value I've paid.

Iirc I "won" the front 9 out of our fourball with 9 points :whoo:

Biggest difference between 9s I've ever played, think I got about 22 on the way back, par 5s playing 3w then 8 or 9 iron!

Without being introduced or a guest, the best value this year has to be Trump International. £200 for a fourball with coffee/bacon roll, unlimited range balls, round of golf, then soup and sandwich (American size!) Goody bag with quality bag tag, course planner etc.

If I'm honest, the £14 I spent last night playing Fiddlers Ferry in Warrington is probably the best value course I've played. Only 5,301 yards but SSS of 70, lots of hazards and plenty of requirement to think your way around the course. Not the finest course around I'm sure, but I doubt you'll do better for £14.

A few years back a few clubs had an agreement for play at the courses at a cost for 20 pound for adults and free for juniors.
Landeryds GK has 3 good courses and we played there the whole family for around 40 pound. That was good value for three good courses ,

How about Gleneagles PGA Centenary for £90 each, including a pair of the swankest golf cars ever seen (by me at least). Courtesy of a booking error, for which they went out of their way to make amends.

Sorry to disagree, but £90 for the PGA isn't good value in my book.

Gullane #1 for a fiver; Muirfield for a tenner (apparently more than treble the previous year's rate!) - both as member's guest.
North Berwick West for a tenner has already been noted. Scotland has a different attitude to guests than the South East! Likewise Royal Burgess!

As a non-guest rate... Kings/Queens Courses @ Gleaneagles for £40 each; Kingsbarnes for £30 Dundonald for £30.

I forgot to mention Gleneagles Kings. I don't think they do it anymore but they used to release a limited amount of midweek teetimes for the first week in October at a bargain price.
I played it for £32 about 7 years ago on a sunny Monday morning

The scars of that front 9 will live with me forever

Great value once you take away the £100 fuel, B&B and 8hrs drive

Bent Creek in florida (not to be confused with River bend which got my vote in the worst category)
Booked online the day before for $19 each including a buggy.
Nice course with good greens.

Liked it so much that we booked again for the higher price of $29 each inc buggy
Played 9 holes then had to abanddon because of thunder and lightning.
Despite having played half a round, they still gave us a rain check for $50 which we used a few days later

It would be great if they gave us rain checks more often in this country.

whats the Irish craic classic - sounds interesting

It's the Irish mega meet, details are in the arrange a game section. Not been over myself to play in it but they are a really good bunch of lads and a great way to meet a few fellow forummers if you fancy playing in it

Edit: I've just looked and realised there are 2 seperate trips this year so take your pick if you're interested in playing in either of them.
