What Is the Best Value Golf Course you have played

Played Hollins Hall today for £10, bargain.

Like Bluewolf said Moor Allerton was a total steal too.

How did you get on? Ready for Sunday? Best value was £30 for the hotchkin course at woodhall this year with Lincoln Quaker. An absolutely splendid round.

Looks like there are loads of deals to be had , think the best is the St Andrews deal for anyone who lives in the town , £ 110 for a season ticket for all the courses , that was in 2005 , not sure what it is today...........................goes to show that mega bucks don't mean you are getting a good deal

Mount Juliet a few years ago. £30 inc steak sandwich and a pint. I don't think I will ever beat that.

Sadly I can't remember many individual prices so can't really do the "under £30" for a round thing. But three days unlimited golf at St Andrews for £130 takes some beating - even if it doesn't include the Old course. Nice thing when we did it was that the Old was closed in preparation for the Open, so the number of overseas visitors who'd normally play it was down and the other courses a bit less busy than usual.

Recently got Farnham Estate in Cavan for €7 on golf now, I will never ever beat that for a deal, its a fantastic course, even its full rates I think are about €25 which is still a steal, and they do a midweek 4ball with 2 buggies for €100, fantastic value and brilliant course.

Did ok, felt like I played really well but still can't break 100!!! Hit my new irons well so was chuffed with that.

Yes really ready for it, looking forward to it. Will text you on Sat about pick up time.

Bought a 4 ball at Cuddington in the H4H auction for £100. £25 each seems a pretty good deal.

I used to play Vale do Lobo in Portugal back in the 80's. First year we paid £11 a round and by the last year we went it had gone up to £18. Hate to think what it costs now.

£20 at Harlech was pretty good, when we looked at their membership prices of approx £480/year we told the secretary there was a typo only to be told no that's actually the price!

Played there a year or so back , it was 80 euros but my mate got us a deal , they about 100 euros or more , walk in rate is even higher , I like the ocean course more

I'd say for me a weekend at Woodhall Spa a couple of years ago for about £170 for dinner, B&B plus rounds on both courses was cracking value.

I'm really struggling to think of one particular course that I can name.

Probably the best value is to play in opens. Often 36 holes including lunch, usually with a coffee and bacon roll as well. Some top courses offer these sort of events for £30 to £50. Plus if you play well you can pick up a prize. Scratch opens are always from the back tees as well.

Royal Aberdeen off the tips a few days after the Walker Cup for £35 is about as good as it gets.

I am fortunate to get to play a lot of top courses for nothing and a few for peanuts due to my job.

Birkdale and RCD for £40 incl food spring to mind.

The rate that the Scottish lads used to get Goswick for at the old England v Scotland matches was a total steal.

What I would be interested in is the best value when people have paid full whack for the course. Most appear to have got bargains through deals, members rates etc but what is the best value course when you have paid the full asking price. I would dare to say that not a massive amount are worth what the course wants to charge at peak times. To my mind there are too many course that want to charge £30-£50 that are good value at £20 tops.

Genuninely cant remember the last time I paid full whack for a golf course, theres always a deal to be had on the price one way or another these days (whether its county card, members guest, group rate, groupon voucher, tee off times, reciprocal deals etc etc). I guess its a bit of a vicious circle, people rarely pay asking price so asking price gets raised to allow for more offers!

Ask and re shall receive!
Bondhay, near Worksop was a fantastic course and was £20 on a weekday (£27 on a weekend is pretty good value for what is one of my favourite courses.

On a "special" would be Sunningdale for £95 including breakfast, 3 course lunch and sarnies/chips, plus 36 holes of golf (work society do), or Woburn in an Open three years ago for £50 including bacon roll, 18 holes, 3 course buffet lunch and prizes to 6th place (I came 7th).

£100 for the Old Course in April was also, I felt, good value for money.
