Well, this one seems to be missing from the current set of "which course" questions. As a starter I'll offer Bethpage Black; £66 weekday for a US Open venue in the same year as it hosted was incredible value, one of the playing partners was FDNY, & a New York State resident, so only paid £33! Current visitor fees are $130, $150 weekends, halve that for residents. So, what bargains are to be found out there?

Studley Wood for £20

Northampton County Course - £25 with a member

Woburn £35 with a member

By virtue of being a member's guest at each, and all in one week;

Gullane No 1, £10

Luffness, £15

North Berwick West Links, £10

I have had to guess a little due to the generosity of my hosts who refused to let me pay. Did manage to pay for the lunches at Luffness though.

Sunningdale is fantastic value for money, even if it is not cheap.

Couple of weeks back, Friday 4pm, 18 holes, two bottles of water & a snickers in pro shop ... €19.20 at North West Golf club Donegal. Great links - stunning value.

Sunningdale New for nothing (Secretary had arranged a game through his Secretary's Society - free as long as the Captain went too)
He was ill so I got drafted in as a large replacement!
Now that's Value for Money!

Signed onto the Old Course for £6 (1989)
Signed onto North Berwick by my brother in law a couple of years ago for a tenner
Cruden Bay Seniors open at £15 this year

Best value full price round I've had was The Valley at Royal Portrush this summer though - bargain at £45 for a wonderful course

Played Duxbury in Chorley for £1 in the summer. Now Duxbury will not set the world alight but its a great course when its dry and it only cost a quid you can't complain :)

I've played all 3 Wentworth courses for nothing which ain't bad, also Carton House and Royal Portrush courtesy of GM but I guess I can't count freebies.

I paid £40 for a society day at West Hill a few years back so that would probably have to be it for me I think.

Free ones don't count.

I've just played Baildon £12.50, on a Sunday morning, and Skipton Monday £15. Both worth an awful lot more, don't go telling them though.
