Best value golf course that you have played/visited?

Woodhall spa, Hotchkin. Played it 4 times now for a grand total of £37.

Fantastic course that doesn't need to rely on the weather to destroy you :D

By virtue of being a member's guest at each, and all in one week;

Gullane No 1, £10

Luffness, £15

North Berwick West Links, £10

I have had to guess a little due to the generosity of my hosts who refused to let me pay. Did manage to pay for the lunches at Luffness though.

It used to be the case that the members must pay for their guests at those courses/dining room/bar.

£25 twilight ticket at Dundonald would be my best value of 'full' fees paid.

Played Wynyard (hosted the Seve Trophy a few years back) last Monday for £16. Great deal.

Others in the north east:
Rockliffe - generally £30-£40 if you shop for deals.
Slaley - both courses can normally be found on teetimes for less than £20

That explains it although had they not been such gracious hosts they could, I suppose, have subsequently accepted reimbursement.

Further proof that the tired, old stereotype of mean Scotsmen is , in my experience, complete and utter tosh.

Mount Juliet for £25 a few years ago inc steak sarnie and a pint :D Fantastic value for money.

Free ones don't count.

Exactly. Likewise courses where you have been invited as a guest. I think it's quite clear this thread is about normal green fee rates.

How many people on here have purchased a county card? That gives access to some really good courses for what is generally the members guest rate and anyone who is a club member can buy one from their club or county union secretary. I think the Dorset one this year is about £14 and you get your money back 1st time you use it

Surrey now send you one free (or include it in the fees), just need to find the time outside of forum meets and society days to use it.

Carnoustie Championship course for £18 a few years back. Joined up with three locals on the first tee at 7am, got to play right off the back tees and then they signed me in when we finished so I was playing with members. Fastest round I've ever bought in the bar afterwards to say thank you!

Silloth for £15 in an open last year although by the time I came off I felt like they should be paying us. The weather was probably the worst Ive played in.
Me NWJ Birchy and Fish scored about 30pts between us on the front 9  It was brutal!!
