Popped out last night to play the first 6 holes of my course. A nice wee loop that brings you past the clubhouse and you can fire round in under an hour. What happened left me speechless....I birdied the first three holes !!!

1st Par 5 : Nailed the drive, strong hybrid and a 9 iron to 5 feet
2nd Par 4 : Another cracker off the tee, wedge to 6 feet
3rd Par 3 : 9 iron to 12 feet

I par'd the 4th & 6th - bogeyed the 5th.

I cant ever remember back to back birdies, never mind a triple.

Dont know what I am happier about, the 3 birdies overall or the fact that my putter and I kissed and made up.

Lets hope we are still on talking terms at the Medal on Sunday...

Nice. I don't know what you play off but -3 after 3 is exceptional at any level, and -2 after 6 is great going. Don't be disappointed if you don't get to -3 on Sunday but surely that is a huge confidence boost to take to the first tee.

Hitting off +10 Old Mate, so thats what made the birdie-fest last night all the more special.

Birdies have been rare overall this season.

Even if I never repeat the treble anytime soon, it was great to know that I am capable of them especially on holes that are longer than Par 3's

Last night proved the benefit of when strong short game comes together with good putting ( a rare occurence at present) Hitting approach shots which give you a chance at a 1-putt was a revelation. Actually sinking the putts was mind-blowing haha !

My plan for next few weeks is spend a midweek eveing around the practice hole with a wedge and putter only

That would eat away at me being 2 under after 6 and not being able to finish the round to see what I could score.
Well done all the same.

I've birdied the first 3 at my place once. I had a 30' birdie putt at the 4th as well that missed by about 6".
I managed to hang on (and it definitely felt like hanging on!) to the red figures with 3 bogeys and another birdie for a 71.

Only had an hour avail so just tried to make best use of it.

I ws actually happy to walk off at that point as gave me the opportunity to try and bottle the confidence and take in into the Medal at the weekend

18holes is a different game altogether
