Just after some info on the Belfry and their custom fitting and the cost of the irons.

I know they charge £50, but take that off the cost of the clubs if you buy, but do they offer good deals, or do you pay around the RRP for the irons.

For example, my local pro is doing S56's, 4-PW for £539. Would you be able to get anywehere near this kind of deal at The Belfry?

Cheers

Why don't you give them a call beforehand? If you are booking up a fitting with them and they have the opportunity to sell some clubs I'm sure they will offer you a deal.
Although, having said that they get £50.00 anyway, which is likely to be more than the profit they make out of the set of irons

It is a very impressive set up down there. I went to do a feature for (cough) another golf magazine (cough) and it was great. They have a tremendous selection of gear.

Let us know how competitive they are on pricing, it'd be great to get some feedback.

Pricing was pretty close to RRP when I went there (in fact the fitter basically suggested I hunt around for the best price once he had given me the spec I needed). They really do not push the sale on you when you are there.

What I did was take the spec elsewhere and bought the club I was recommended at about £100 less than the Belfry price then used the £50 pro shop credit there towards a new wedge. You do not have to use the £50 against the club you are fitted for, it is simply a credit under your name in the pro shop.

I'll let you know next week. I'm up there on Monday being fitted for a new set of irons. :D

I've already researched the likely models so I've got a good idea what I should be paying.

End of the day if I can get them over £50 cheaper elsewhere then I'm happy just to pay them the £50 for the fitting and specs.

Can it be used against a green fee?

Not sure to be honest, I know at my club you cannot use pro shop credit against green fees
