Belfry vs Scott Gourlay

You wont get better after sales or customer service than Ping - FACT. Ping will also alter clubs for you again. So much nonsense being spouted on here about Ping. I've used Ping for 21 years and won't be moving ever. Woods and irons are excellent.

Craw is obviously a happy Ping customer, which is laudable, and I agree that Ping's C/S generally seems top notch - especially bearing in mind how much gear they sell. Certainly, amongst the mainstream brands, I believe their image for service is the best.

However, I too know folk who have had a less than perfect experience with Ping. So to describe similar examples as 'nonsense' could itself be described as 'nonsense' imo.

I also know of folk who have had less than perfect experiences from fitters.

So any decision on which way to go should factor in - rather than expect - the likelihood of the a need for further service or correspondence and the (in)convenience of such a need.

And I trust that you can rate Pings as 'excellent' having tried other brands, rather than simply trusting Ping to be so!

Mizuno custom fit that was laughable. Yes I'm biased towards Ping but that's down to faultless service and developing a trust in the product. PING4LIFE for this happy camper.

Spoke to Scott and he said Ping only want to push their own shafts and limited on wood shafts, plus they don’t do heads only...that might change now with the new 25 range but only for woods.

However, the last custom set of pings he ordered, he cancelled after waiting 6 weeks. :(

I had an Iron fitting with Scott last summer, and would Highly Recommend

Im sure he is also a member of a Big Buying Group........??.......TGI......??.......or foremost.......??............that type of set up, and can thus source most (mainstream) manufacturers Products, which I believe would cover Ping too

Give him a Ring, he'd be Only too happy to talk, and u can find out for yourself if he can cater for what u are looking for

(EDIT) Tommo beat me to it

Thanks for all of the responses. I think I'm leaning towards Scott Gourlay given that he's on my doorstep and will be available for tweaks etc. I'm hoping to do it in February so I'll let everyone know what I decide and how I get on.
