Reading a amazing book by David Bolchover called The Greatest Comback.
Its the story of Bela Guttmann the manager of Benfica that won the European Cup twice in the 1960s,he was a Holocaust survivor and also of the White Terror and many of his family were executed by the Nazis, he also escaped from a slave labour camp. He is hailed as the first superstar manager.
He played the 1920s in Hungary and later played and maneged in Europe, South America and America where they formed a league and drew big crowds playing a type of football never seen before think of Barca at their best.
I never knew football was so big for a time in the States and many Scottish players went out there and some English players,
West Ham won the first the FA cup and Guttermans side beat them 5-0 West Ham's captain George Kay said they were the best team he ever saw.
But this book is as much a story about survival as football highly recommended.
