Been given an ultimatum

4banger, the answer is obvious. You stood on the tee, declared your hc then proceeded to hit the ball in your usual manor and you have offended the main man. Be afraid, be very afraid ;)

A roll up is a roll up (swindle, greedy, what ever). It is against our club rules to exclude any one who turns up, unless the allocated tee times are full. Any swindle doing this would have their tee times revoked. It is the whole point of a roll up, you can just turn up at a specific time and get a game.

+1 sounds like a right plonker

The guy is a tool, clearly thinks he own's the club. Suggest that you take him and his cronies outside and shoot the lot of them in front of thier families, if you find that a bit extreme dont play with him again.

It's tempting to just say "What an arse!" but I can see why it might suit if you and your two mates joined them. Just a pity they weren't more welcoming...

Na, on reflection, what an arse!

I remember being in a similar situation to this when I was about 6 at primary school and as I recall if I wanted to be in Raymonds gang I had to promise never to speak to Maurice again. It was a tough decision then but I've since grown up and left that behind me.

What were the other's like in the roll up? Maybe don't tar the rest of them with his brush. Have a chat with a couple of the others and see if what he say's stands. If so, politely decline to play. You may be surprised and find the others more welcoming to you playing as and when you can.

I believe the man is an ass... I would politely decline his offer.
You should be able to play with whomever you wish, if they invite you to play, then great, but if not I wouldn't be overly worried I'm sure you will pick up games elsewhere..

If the rest seem OK guys then ignore him and play when you want. If he makes the comment again, pull him to one side and tell him to grow up. Well, thats what I would do anyhow.

What club is it? I'm sure they must have other roll ups. Personally I'd turn up and play and if they try and exclude you politely tell him its your intention and that you'll make it official. Our club has at least hree roll ups on a Saturday alone and everyone is welcome. There are several midweeks versions and a couple on a Sunday. The best thing to do would be to front him in the clubhouse in front of the others and see if they support him or back down. At least you'll know if its him being a prize plonker or the majority feel the same about you turning up and taking the cash

I don't think there is any need to say anything abusive. Either leave them to their roll-up or carry on playing the occasional game with them and see if he keeps to his word and tries to 'ban' you from their roll-up.
