Beeeffff!

Personally always thought he was a little overrated as a golfer. Is it time we all realise this?

Best finish since Sept last year, tied 22nd (excluding web.com tour).

Hard critic:D, he is on tour and earnt it, that puts him in the top people who currently play golf.

I think what I have seen of him, he is great and seems to be enjoying himself and fun. BBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!

Very refreshing to see someone on the tours overtly enjoying themselves. I'd put Sullivan in the same bracket also. Hopefully he will be around for a while to come although I fear that he may fall into the Oliver Wilson, Jamie Donaldson, Mannesero bracket of those who start well, fade away and then make a comeback.

I keep getting him mixed up with the Rag 'n' Bone man, must be the beards.

Time yet for the chap but hopefully he doesn't get too distracted by the hoo-ha around his image. However its the image that's making him the money, double edged sword.

I an industry that sees more and more players that have media coaches and who learn to be boringly middle of the road, giving sterile answers, rather than be a bit wacky he's brilliant. Hopefully he'll be another Lee Trevino, great golfer AND a great entertainer.

And if he doesn't hit the rarefied heights but still entertains I won't be complaining.

He doesn't do anyone any harm, and we all would love to be half as good as he is.

What does he clear in price money? $40k a month on average? Quite good, even with the travel expenses he must be having.

Personally I think he is great not just for the game but for people to relate to. He is clearly there for his love of the game and doesn't seem to give a rats who thinks what if him. He is happy being himself and there are many that could take that lesson both on the tour (robotic players that are a bit serious) and for mere mortals.
It's good to get out and do what you love but it's also important to love what you do and Beef comes across as in both camps.
Is he overrated? Cant say I have ever really heard home being "rated" other than he is obviously a good player to be where he is.

Well said, Bri - I reckon he drinks Guiness also.

If I could be paired with anyone in a pro-am by chance, apart from a few like Phil Mick, and 4-5 others, after that it would be "beef".

I reckon he'd give you a big kiss, a few hugs, have a laugh all the way around, then take you on the ale aferwards, as well. Probably get in about 4 in the morning, after the lap-dancing gaff, and would know a good kebab shop.

A bit like Stu then :D

He's a character in a golfing landscape devoid of these in these media trained days. If he can get kids into golf as a result great. If he entertains on and off the course then great. He can certainly play enough to earn a decent living and maintain a tour card. What's not to like

I always figured if Tiger couldnt get kids into golf, who could? It has zip to do with integrity, image, social media, what ever. Billionaire, boffing loads of fluff. If that doesnt get kids into it, nothing will. Its cheap, but heck, its what it is.

Always thought Rickie Fowler was the most over rated player. He did have a very nice victory couple weeks back, some of his up and down statistics were stunning.

Overrated? Pretty harsh I'd say, the guy has a personality. He's a good pro, golf is a funny game you can just be plodding along and then have a good 4 or 5 weeks at the right time. I'm pretty sure he's a millionaire from playing golf so he's probably not bothered about what most people think and is quite content to do his own thing. Good on him I'd love to be in his position

I'm a fan of beef, and as for overating, not sure anyone was that much..? Anyhoo its in the least refreshing to see his personality and big smile compared to the robotic nonsense the majority spew out at the site of a microphone.A few forgettable journeymen out there with a major on their CV and if Beef could bag one it would be a great laugh to watch the party he'd no doubt throw! It's hard to overate anybody with a tour card these days, these boys can really play.....

I really don't understand how you can call anyone starting a career on the PGA tour overrated.

Guy is great for golf and already enjoying success, it will no doubt continue.

Ok put it this way. Does someone outside the top 100 in the world (high of about 74) deserve magazine front covers? In my opinion no

As said in my post , the guy is a breath of fresh air for golf and is playing on the hardest tour in golf. Bloke couldn't be more down to earth if he tried- not sure why that's bad for the front cover of a mag really.
