BEATS BY DR DRE Headphones

I use the sports type. Not because I am sporty but I hate hanging wires and being un slim they are easier. Expense is the biggest downside. I am not a sound expert so I could not say how good or bad they are in that respect. Fitting wise for ears is not a problem. Hope this helps

Overpriced rubbish IMO, have a look at the Sennheiser range you'll get a lot more quality for your money.

I have a pair of wireless KS. That I payed £30 for in John Lewis.

I checked out Beats, Bose and others and at x 4 the price they weren't even half as good again.

In my view Dr Dre are all well and good if you're Snoopy Doopy Doggy Dog or one of those rapper lads, but if not then they're grossly overpriced and a perfect example of hype, branding and style over substance, as indeed are so many 'designer' names.

With you on the bud type. I hate them - no grunt and they fall out of your blimmin ears at the drop of a hat!

I use the normal cushioned can style Beats, find them way better than the sennheisers, which I had previously, use them mostly when on trains, really comfortable and no issues, excelllent quality

Overpriced. To much emphasis on bass and a lot of what you pay is for the name. Don't get me wrong. They sound good but I feel there is better for the same price and others that are just as good for less.

So much depends on what you are listening to though. If it's all mp3 from a phone then a really expensive headphone isn't going to offer you the best value for money. Take a look at mid range AKG, Sennheiser etc.

If you are looking at cans and want style and substance check out the Meze 73 or 66 on Amazon. If you really want to splash out then the Meze 99. They are gorgeous over head cans and sound is excellent.

You looking for closed or open back? Bluetooth or wired?

Not to sure what you mean by open or closed back, Bluetooth or wired is fine, its really to use on the i Pod when walking the dog and also for some fitness, def can not be the bud ones .

Open back dont have a solid enclosure on them. This means others can hear your music a bit, as well as letting in outside noise, but the sound you get is arguably more realistic. Best for listening at home. Closed back is the opposite-its just you and your sound, better for public areas. Its personal preference.

Thanks for explaining that , I would say closed back as most of the time I would be outside.
