Everything costs more that’s just life as whole these days

There are deals to be had

But if you don’t think it’s value for money then don’t buy it

It’s not a “must have”
People have found a way to get it at a fraction of the cost, might not be legal but people are doing it 🤷‍♂️

We have one of these packages that's £50 a year or something. Barely use it now, I don't think we'll renew it again. We watched one series on it - Ted Lasso - because that was on Apple which is one thing we didn't have. We've tried a couple of films but they never play correctly, they keep pausing and buffering throughout which makes them unwatchable. Maybe it's because our TV is a decade old, I don't know. But we've given up on the films for that reason, the only ones that work are older ones that are probably on Netflix etc anyway. I used to watch the football on it, but I don't really watch football anymore. I'd watch the golf majors on there, but my dad has gone back to Sky now so I can just use his Sky Go account on my iPad again.

The Amazon stick is useful for streaming C4, iPlayer etc, but I think we'll cancel the TV & Film app.

I used to run a Kodi box years ago, it was hard keeping up with all the updates and best apps to use. Finding a good link for a film could be a pain as well, not sure if it’s improved but IPTV is just a lot easier.

They went after one guy for watching but he was also supplying so was a way to increase his jail time

The fact he ignored his Isp cease order went against him

I had a letter once when I downloaded a programme but wasn't the download. I had left my laptop downloading overnight and it had started uploading it afters aswell so got told to stop uploading

Companies do bring this on themselves tho , if the legal option is cheap and simple then people don't turn to other sources . Look at the greed of Disney, netflix and such .. all clamping down on passwords sharing because they don't make enough apparently .

We used to split the costs. My dad would pay for Netflix providing it for me and my sister. I used to pay for Disney providing it for them .

Now to get the content you want you can need

Netflix
Disney
Prime
Paramount plus
Apple TV

Nobody is happy just selling their product for a small profit they all want their own platform to milk the customer dry

The anti monopoly law was supposed to protect customers from firms having a monopoly and milking them dry. Instead they have made it so you pay more anyways

As a family will still do that but we pay for the extra subscriber on Netflix to get UHD. I could get Netflix with Sky but it would only be standard resolution, Paramount + comes with Sky if you have sky cinema.

Add in BBC I player and ITX to be honest what I have gives so many options that I see the other stuff not worth having. I still have programmes that I recorded 3 years ago that I have not watched.

To add to that comment I still have around 30 VCR tapes and 10 or so DVDs that I never got round to watching and I have a well above average amount of time to watch TV.
