Just watched the first episode of the new series of Dr Who and I don’t know if it’s coz I’m getting old/ senile/ or just plane stupid, but I found the story impossible to follow.

I might as well have watched it with the sound off for the sense it made.

Disappointed as previous series / episodes have been fine.

Anyone else dazed and confused?

I think it has never been the same since Jodie Whittaker took over. I felt the stories in that series in particular were written in very dry way and there seemed no conviction around any of the plots. I like the current doctor and although Russell T Davies has tried to be creative as he was when Dr Who first came back with little hidden plot twists that form a larger picture it has still felt very disjointed. I think it is perhaps had its time now

And you're probably the only person alive who can say that.... 😉 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
No, I am another.

I was already a teenager by then and, not surprisingly, dismissed it then as a kids programme.

Since then I have had no interest in revisiting my decision and getting very annoyed by BBC promoting it as something it isn't.

I saw the first ever episode televised and didn't like it, and have rarely ever seen it since.
I think the one with the giant ants had me hiding behind the sofa.
I found the mechanoids hilarious, time they primed their weapon every body could just run away.

Just watched it. Not the smartest first episode, a weird one. They like this now though, have a character thread running through the series. All mysterious, tie it up at the end. I don't find that aspect very interesting but it's how the show is now.

I'm slowly working my way through the Tom Baker era, my first Dr, on iPlayer. Loved him, loved the stories. Dr, aliens, mystery, simple. They've turned it into something else now and I find myself being permanently disappointed. I like the new Dr, just wish they went back to simple stories and reduced the assistant to the support role they were always meant to be.

I remember Jon Pertwee but Tom Baker was the first Dr I followed from regeneration to the end of his time. Assistants were always supposedly there to explain the narrative to the audience not to be a main part of it

Haven't watched it since Bernard Cribbens days but used to find the Weeping Angels back in the mid-2000's a bit disturbing...
