Without trying to start an anti BBC thread…

WHY DO THEY INSIST ON NEVER SHOWING THE FRONT NINE?????!!!!

Possibly the best collection of holes anywhere, and no coverage!

Normally, I love the bbc coverage, but this is really starting to get on my wick. It was the same at the Scottish Open too!

Having said that I can't wait to start uni now there next week!! Even if it will take me two days to get there! :D :D

Who needs St Andrews…! :o :D

I have already mentioned this on the WC thread. The best 9 holes in Mainland British golf and all we have seen is the 8th and 9th green.

The coverage is poor, folk go on about Sky's adverts but the BBC make up for these with there pictures of folk lying around on the ground, ships in the sea, kids playing with frisbees etc etc.

Add to that the mind numbing old fart that is Alliss and I will gladly take Sky anytime.

I'm glad it isn't just me then! :D

To be honest it is nice to just see it after the haar somewhat prevented me seeing it when i visited!

If they mention stiggy hodgsons name once more its going off....

The guy is there cos of his golf no his name and he is performing greatly but all they seem to be able to say i his name...

Totally bl00dy spot on. They've done this sort thing a few times this year. I emailled there complaints dept and told them I appreciate they have a schedule but why not stick it on the red button.

The reply I got back was just rollox

But don't they do Strictly Come Dancing well.
It's back in 3 weeks time.
Lulu...... 63, and she's still worth a punch up the drawers.
At last, something decent to come oot of Scotland

;)

It's certainly not perfect but at least the BBC covered the Walker Cup.
Can't ever see Sky doing it as there won't be enough advertising revenue.

Congrats to GB&I by the way!! :D

GB&I had won, so ergo had finished, same happens in the ryder cup except they stay to talk to the stars but dont bother watching the matches of no concern

exactly!, if the BBC didnt cover it a lot on here would have nothing to moan about ;) :p :p

Would you see them go off air when a horse is 5 lengths clear with a furlong to go?

Sky stay with it and DO still show shots if not in depth coverage of games that are left after the cup is won in the Ryder Cup.

I'm kinda expecting them to piss off if Man Utd are 3 nil up with 5 ten minutes to play in the FA Cup final now... :D

I think it was fantastic for them to show as much as they did....the match was well over by the time Brown stumbled to a half....it wasn't exactly the best viewing either....

Well done BBC for showing what you did....

yes it was over, but they actually missed the most important bit when it nearly wasnt.

We still needed 1.5 points and it was far from clear that we were going to get them.

Rhys Pugh hits it through the back of teh 17th with teh camera not being able to see it and teh commentator worried that it was in serious trouble. opponent goes just through the back on a nice bit of grass, and it looks like we might struggle to get teh guaranteed full point and maybe even not a half out of the match.

So when we come back to it we see USA's guy flopping his wedge shot onto the green, just runs past the hole, and they say, "and that's the match to "Pugh" !!!!??????

How did they miss out Pugh's lie and shot ?? I still dont knwo if he chipped in ?

Rubbish

Hold the phone. For the hardened golfers out there who want the very best possible coverage of top events Sky is there for you. As someone relatively new to the game and who is not from Scotland so has never played or seen Royal Aberdeen it was great that the BBC chose to show it. I sat and watched the games on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning with my son who absolutely lapped it up.

I've not got Sky so any coverage on terrestrial tv allows me, and more importantly, my young'un to watch some of the best in the professional/amateur game slog it out.

The coverage may not have been perfect, some of you may have a distinct dislike of Alliss, they might have missed some shots BUT at least they showed some of the event.

I'm willing to wager that none of you work in broadcasting or understand how expensive and complex it is putting together a live feed. I've seen first hand how complicated it is to cover a Netball match that takes place on a tiny indoor court for just one hour.

Do you think they perhaps they didn't show the front nine because it would have blown the budget?

I'm sorry but frankly for the Beeb to cover this is fantastic and if you don't like the quality of the coverage or Alliss' commentary "DON'T FECKING WATCH IT!"

I personally would rather watch some of the Walker Cup then see none of it, but then again my glass is half full...
