Banksy-ed!

Don't get it really, if you're happy to destroy something valued at over a million quid for a stunt, you've clearly got too much money, self indulgent nonsense and very disrespectful to millions living in poverty. Banksy could've sold it to people stupid enough to buy it and put the money to the Indonesian relief fund.

Me neither, especially as now there is a debate as to whether the stunt has actually increased its value.

While on the topic of not getting, how can his identity be a secret?

How do you stop anyone claiming to be Banksy and selling art, who sells the art on his behalf and where does the money end up?

Maybe it's because I'm not really an arty type person, but the concept of an unknown mystery artist making a profit from their art doesn't really make sense to me. Is it really just a big "in-joke" or something?

It’s art at the end of the day and there are no boundaries and it will still be art now so for the person who bought it will think it’s still worth spending his money on.

Not sure about the disrespectful to millions on poverty when there are no doubt plenty of millionaires out there who do similar things with their money

It’s a never ending circle if we start to go down to moral fibre road in regards money and poverty - especially on a golf forum , not exactly a cheap sport

Banksy’s identity is well known. He was in Massive Attack.

That’s more a rumour after Goldie said it was him but nothing has been confirmed along with a few other names in the melting pot

So right now his identity is still unknown

It really isn’t. It is him. They don’t officially confirm it so it keeps his lot high but it is him.

What a cracking publicity stunt again from Banksy, if he really wanted it destroyed if it got auctioned, why did only half of it get shredded??

The shredder must’ve ran out of batteries or something for seeing it had been in there for “years”
Has the del naja rumour not been around for long enough. Is it not supposedly a few of them rather than just one guy?
